Conduct Roller Operations

  • The RIIMPO317F Roller Operation unit involves training for individuals to competently operate a roller in various conditions. The course covers operating and controlling the roller to achieve desired outcomes, maintaining and servicing the roller, and understanding safety protocols. Participants will learn how to perform pre-operational checks, operate the roller in a range of environments, and conduct basic maintenance tasks to ensure the equipment's reliability and performance.

    • Must have good verbal and written comprehension of the English language.

    • A general understanding of workplace health and safety (such as a White Card) is recommended.

    • Must hold a USI (unique student identifier) number.
      Must wear long sleeved shirt, long leg pants and steel cap boots.

    • No specific prior experience with roller equipment is required, but familiarity with heavy machinery is beneficial.

  • 1 to 2 day course (depending on experience)

    • The course is delivered through a combination of theoretical and practical components.

    • Training includes classroom-based instruction, practical exercises on-site with the roller, and assessments to ensure competency.
